Havana

Small Group Holidays

Our Small Group Holidays to Havana take you on a whirlwind tour of this fascinating city.

Cuba's Carefree Capital is one of the most vibrant and captivating cities on the planet.

Havana has so much more to offer than just Rum and Revolutions; it oozes culture.

As we tour the city, take in the sites and sounds of Havana, glide down the Malecon with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face you'll be transported back to the halcyon days of the 1950's.

You'll get hands-on tuition in amazing street photography; shooting portraiture, boxing, ballet, architecture and stunning landscapes and cityscapes which will blow you away.

We'll be throwing in a few surprises along the way too.

We don’t stay in international hotels we stay in beautiful colonial family run casa's, guesthouses or private apartments.

We're also dedicated to responsible travel and tourism; the money you spend to travel with us goes to those hard-working Cuban families who we work hand-in-hand with; meaning your trip makes a real difference to peoples lives.

Havana & Trinidad

Small Group Holidays

The truest expression of a people is in its dance and its music...

What can we say about Trinidad..?

It's quite simply one of the most laid back and beautiful places anywhere.

The 15th century town is a UNESCO World heritage site and a favourite place of ours to stay and shoot. Chilled out and super friendly. We’ve been making friends in Trinidad for the last seven years and no one knows it better than us.  It's a joy for photography and for also taking some time out to chill and reflect.

During our stay here we will take in the many pleasures Trinidad has to offer. We'll ride horses through the coffee plantations, take in the stunning scenery and end at a beautiful waterfall where we will take a dip in the crystal clear cooling waters and have a little rum cocktail.

Take an old-style train through the sugar plantations, relax, let the warm air blow across your face as we journey through the beautiful Cuban countryside.

By day you'll photograph the street life of Trinidad and its friendly people, shoot fashion and travel on the beach at Playa Ancon, a beautiful beach a few miles out of town, all before watching the sun go down over this ancient little town.

At night, listen to the intoxicating rhythms of some of the finest musicians in Cuba at the Casa de Musica as they perform under the stars of a moonlit sky.

All in all, you won't find a better photographic experience anywhere in Cuba so get on board, take a step back in time and make the most of this amazing chance to chill, reflect, dance and enjoy all it has to offer under our expert guidance. we know you're going to love it!

F.A.Q.

Do I need special permission to visit Cuba?

  • Most visitors to Cuba will require a visa.  This can be purchased in advance online in most countries (we recommend www.cubavisa.uk or www.visacuba.com

  • Visitors from the USA will require a "General Licence" to visit Cuba; our trips fall into the "Educational Activities" category; we will provide a full programme of tuition and itinerary for your visit

Who are these holidays for?

  • Revolution Photography trips are for anyone who has an interest in travel or photography.

What Equipment do I Need?

  • Our trips are designed so that anyone can participate; for those looking to extend their photography skills individual improvement is measured compared to your own starting point, goals and ambitions.

  • Think of this holiday as a fast-track to taking better pictures, with lots of hands-on experience and an expert at your side the whole time.

  • Honestly, it doesn't matter.  We've had guests with camera-phones and others with high-end pro gear.  Our mantra is "the photographer takes the photograph".  We recommend you bring whatever camera you have and are comfortable carrying.  You won't need a tripod and we don't advise bringing lots of heavy lenses, so one travel zoom is best.

What Will I Learn?

  • Every guest will receive tailored photographic tuition based on their previous experience and level; so whether you've never picked up a camera before or you're a pro or semi-professional looking to expand your portfolio, you'll find help, guidance and advice as well as the perfect shooting locations.

  • Your perspective will be changed through interaction and engagement with local people and new cultures.  Expanding your photography skills with hands-on tuition and daily challenges.

  • Over the course of the holiday you will create a photo-essays which tells the story of both your journey and those of the people and places you have visited.

Not only that but...

  • Portfolio review - prior to the trip we will ask to see a selection of your current work and will provide constructive feedback.  This will also help us to create your tailored tuition.

  • Improved composition skills - through on-going feedback you will learn how to compose better images

  • Visual storytelling - Learn how to communicate your message

  • On-going critique and feedback - throughout the trip we will review the images you have shot and discuss areas for improvement

  • Go home with a fantastic new portfolio of work
